BREED PRESERVATION
Hank
Hercules of Seppalta Xsd
The purpose of breed preservation is to preserve high performance breeding lines without compromising genetic diversity. This will be accomplished by collecting and storing semen from key studs. This semen will become available to future breeders only after the stud is incapable of natural breedings. The criteria for determining both qualified studs and recipient bitches will include having an established performance record, having had a healthy natural litter and being registered as Seppala Siberian Sleddogs with the Continental Kennel Club. As of October, 2005, only semen from Race of Seppalta has been stored by the Continental Kennel Club. A private party has stored from Hercules of Seppalta.Race

A special fund has been established by the ISSSC to pay semen storage and collection fees. Donations to this fund are welcomed and can be made to ISSSC Treasurer, PO Box 992, Glenrock, WY 82637, or ISSSC Secretary, 30324 119th Street, Princeton, MN, USA.
